Ways to Volunteer

Our volunteers are community members who come from all professions and walks of life, but are united by our collaborative effort to keep the community safe.

Firefighter

Serving Delaware Township and beyond, our volunteers maintain state-certified skills through training at the county academy and bi-monthly drills.

Junior Firefighter

At 16 and 17, junior firefighters gain exposure to firefighting by participating in training and by assisting firefighters at emergencies.

Fire Police

During emergency scenes and community events, fire-police direct traffic and crowds, helping to keep the pubic and firefighters safe.

Associate Member

For those not interested in emergency response, associate members contribute through administrative, organizational, and fundraising support.

No prior experience is necessary. Training and equipment are provided at no cost.
“It’s a calling that we take seriously. Whether it be a fire, a drill, or training, we give it our all to get the job done.”

–  Past Chief, Edward Fleming

Benefits You Will Recieve

Why Volunteer

A group of firefighters in full gear work to rescue someone from a damaged SUV after a crash on a road beside trees. Tools and equipment are scattered on the ground, and other emergency personnel are nearby.
Our neighbors count on DTFC volunteers to answer emergency calls, and when every second counts, we are always looking for more helping hands. Plus, there are so many reasons to join!
  • Train with us and learn life-saving skills at local, state and national training facilities at no cost to you.
  • Utilize state-of-art equipment to respond to emergency calls.
  • Uniforms, turn-out gear and other personal equipment are provided.
  • Current college students may be eligible for tuition reimbursement.
  • Receive recognition with many service awards programs (a retirement account with deposits up to $1,200 a year).
  • And the greatest benefit of all: the satisfaction of serving your beloved community.
