DTFC volunteers responded to a large wood pile and brush fire within the township last night after midnight. Due to the location of the fire all units had to make access from a near by field. Tender 48-2(Amwell Valley Fire) was requested to supply additional water, along with a brush unit from NJFFS. Units operated for just over two hours. Now that cold weather is here, a couple reminders for those that use wood heat. Please remember to get your chimney cleaned and expected. Also make sure to dispose of your ashes correctly. Brush, Engine, Tender, and both Chiefs made the response.
