Last evening DTFC volunteers responded into West Amwell for a chimney fire with minor extension. This was our first chimney fire of the season. Remember to get your chimney cleaned and inspected as the cold weather has arrived.
Tonight at 17:25hrs, WAFCco responded to a reported chimney fire in the 200 block of Mount Airy Harbourton Road. Battalion 26(Siwy),arrived within six minutes of dispatch, confirming the chimney fire and establishing command. Rescue Engine 17 arrived and entered the structure to conduct a further investigation, while Quint 26 positioned its main and ground ladders. Lieutenant 17-1 assumed operations. Tender 48-1 established a water supply to Quint 26. BC Engine 46, HC Engine 47, Chief, and Deputy 47 arrived, establishing a manpower pool. Crews deployed chimney chains investigated and check for extension, discovering fire in the structure surrounding the chimney. The area was opened up, and the fire was extinguished and brought under control within one hour. WAPD handeled traffic controland a BLS Unit stood by.
